What is Cafeteria?

In the Cafeteria benefit system employees can 'spend' a given amount over their salaries on whatever they prefer. It is their own decision what to spend that amount on. (The elements to choose from may involve the following: meal voucher, language study, holiday travel, insurance, voluntary pension fund, internet service, or, for managers, company car.) In this way, similarly to a menu, every employee can choose freely from a wide range of fringe benefits and make their own package to suit their needs. Every employee will be given some extra compensation, without placing a heavy load on the company's budget.

Beyond its advantages outlined above, Cafeteria - supported by a suitable IT system - provides one more decided edge. Should you ask employees about their income, they would probably only mention their salary and any other money based payments, as the majority of employees are unaware of the financial value of benefits. In Cafeteria, however, the value in Forints is assigned to each element, making the employees see exactly how much their company spends on them.

  • State analysis: the existing benefit scheme of the company is observed and analysed by our experts, which serves as a base for the establishment of the Cafeteria scheme.
  • Needs analysis: a needs analysis is performed among the employees, resulting in a list of the most suitable benefit elements to raise the motivation and loyalty of employees. Alternative solutions are presented.
  • Planning: in cooperation with the company management, the final Cafeteria scheme is compiled, including the planned fringe benefit elements, services as well as the maximum limit amount.
  • Establishing Cafeteria rules: as the next phase in the consultation process, the Cafeteria rules are established. They include an accurate description of how the system operates, and what the framework and rules of use and administration are.
